What is the CTF hacker competition?
CTF (Capture the Flag) is a hacker competition to learn Attack and Defense. The CTF system is divided into three categories: Jeopardy, Attack & Defense and King of Hill. According to the competition rules, the teams use various hacker technologies to obtain hidden flags through decryption or vulnerability utilization.
The Importance of Hosting International Competitions
HITCON has observed the increasing global emphasis on cybersecurity competitions and the substantial resources invested worldwide. To provide talented young Taiwanese professionals who may not have opportunities to travel abroad with a chance to compete against world-class hackers, HITCON launched HITCON CTF in 2014. This competition, hosted in Taiwan, meets international standards and has become a qualifying event for DEFCON CTF.
The competition serves multiple purposes: it offers opportunities to compete with international teams, connects participants with global cybersecurity technologies, and aims to inspire more people to develop an interest in cybersecurity. Through this platform, HITCON works to cultivate future cybersecurity talents and address the talent gap in the industry.
